Hasti Heidari

Hasti lived with her family as a refugee in Germany from 2001 to 2004. After her voluntary return to Iran, she continued to learn German and completed a bachelor's and master's degree in German studies. In Tehran, she worked as a freelance German teacher, among other things. She later acquired knowledge of the immigration process and German visa issuance through her work at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the German Embassy in Tehran. In 2019, she moved to Berlin to begin her doctoral studies. She has worked as a freelance project manager for various art exhibitions and theatre productions and has volunteered to translate literary and non-fiction texts for various organisations. Between 2020 and 2022, she counselled refugees from Iran and Afghanistan before becoming an editor at Handbook Germany: Together.
